Lab Walk Maramarua forest Sun 25th Nov

Dog walk in Maramarua forest Sun 25th Nov – Meet 9.45 for 10am start. See Flyer

Meet at the Symes road gate – we will walk for about 2 hours – dogs allowed off the lead all the time. Walks not suitable for dogs under 10 months as they get too tired and can get pushed around by over enthusiastic bigger dogs. All family members welcome including non-labradors as long as they are sociable and under reasonable control.

The tracks are mostly gravel but there are a few muddy places so wear sensible shoes or walking boots and appropriate clothes – we walk whatever the weather.

There are water holes which I’m sure the dogs will want to test out so it would pay to bring towels to dry them off afterwards. We will likely go for coffee afterwards at the Pukeko’s Nest Cafe.

Directions
From Auckland drive down State Highway 2, past the Maramarua golf course, along a straight stretch, over a bridge. Turn right into Kopuku Road, drive up a hill to a cross roads. Straight over this intersection to follow Kopuku Road for 6.4km. The second turn on your right is Symes Road which is unsealed. Drive to the end and that is where we will meet. Click here to see map of the area.
