Labrador Club Christmas Fun Day and Ribbon Parade
1st December [ Sunday] NZKC grounds Ardmore
This was our last function of the year and the committee hopes that everyone had a great day. The weather stayed dry and not too hot allowing us to enjoy the event outdoors.
The day started with Games, Father Christmas, BBQ, plus Child and Junior Handler Competitions
On sale we had stock, handbooks, calendars, and wonderful Labrador Collars
The highlight was the Ribbon Parade where some lovely labradors were on display. This was more casual than the formal breed show and allowed a number of people less familiar with the show ring, to give showing a go.
Below are some photos from the games we started the day off with.
Another Chance for a Social Walk with your Dogs
The Labrador Club was invited by the Waikato Poodle Fanciers Club to join them for their Christmas themed dog walk on Sunday 17th November.
They met at Lake Waahi, Huntly at 11am. Down SH 1 to Huntly lights. Turn right at lights and go over Tainui bridge. Straight ahead at roundabout into Rotowaro Rd. Follow Rotoworo Rd about 3km. Turn right into Weavers Crossing Rd to Lake Waahi. Car park at end of this road. Click here for map.
Weather was great and a lot of poodles turned up for the event. The dogs really enjoyed the water – just like labradors!
Another great walk. Apart from the beginning and end of the walk the dogs were off lead and no one ran away – they don’t. The dogs find their level and there are no fights because there are so many adventures to have: wild turkeys, dead ‘possums, muddy water. The temperature was ideal for a walk.
Great Coffee at Pukeko’s Nest on highway 2 was a perfect end : we sat outside in the courtyard — and yes, they had put down water bowl for the dogs.
